The Mission of Taste of Greater Gainesville is to raise money and awareness for select nonprofit organizations in the Heart of Florida with a special emphasis on nonprofits that focus on children in need.

Taste of Greater Gainesville, a 501(c)3 charitable organization, is proud to announce its tenth annual fundraising event on Sunday, June 14, 2020. The Taste of Greater Gainesville team is excited about this year’s turnout and are counting down the days until the event of the Summer. Taste of Greater Gainesville will feature signature dishes from North Central Florida’s best restaurants while giving back to four Gainesville children's charities: PACE Center for Girls Alachua, Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida and Tyler's Hope for a Dystonia Cure. Over the first eight years, we have been able to donate over $500,000 to local charities.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida

The mission of Ronald McDonald House Charities of North Central Florida is to directly improve the health and well-being of children. Our core values are integrity, honesty, transparency, confidentiality and compassion. Those who stay at our House depend on us to provide for them during the most trying time in their lives.

Since 1982, RMHCNCF has been keeping families close to their seriously ill children. The Ronald McDonald House provides comfy beds, home-cooked meals, and all the comforts of home to families traveling to Gainesville, FL to seek medical care for their children. Our 31 bedroom House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on the health of their children – not where they can afford to stay, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night.

Our House is at 100% occupancy 365 days a year thanks to the preeminent doctors at the Children's Hospital. We served 844 families in 2018. The major diagnosis of a child whose family is at our House is a Cardiac Issue, Cancer and Premature Birth. We are an indefinite stay House, when you become a member of our House you can stay until your child is discharged, the longest tenure of a family in our almost 40 years of operation is 18 months.

PACE Center for Girls Alachua

PACE Alachua is dedicated to serving at-promise girls by helping them find their voice and providing tools to help them reach their full potential. Most girls come to us at a very critical time in their lives. A time when they are faced with challenging decisions and life circumstances that could shape the course of their future. We in turn provide our girls with the support and resources they need to position them for a better future through education, counseling, training, and advocacy.
